On Saturday 13 August Papillion Dance Academy ballerinas took to the stage, and performed a short version of the classical ballet “Swan Lake”. Accompanied on piano by Mark Baker, they delighted the audience with their grace and beauty.

The corps de ballet, 12 dancers ranging from 8 – 11 years, deserve a resounding “well done” for the necessary disciplined teamwork that they displayed. Beyond the actual choreography, the adult dancers made the roles of Prince Siegfried, Odile and von Rothbart their own, resulting in a great example of what can be achieved in a small rural town with a totally eclectic mix of dance enthusiasts.

Corps de ballet (front row fltr): Lemé Botha, Leraine Groenewald, Kate-Lynn Montgomery, Elizmari van der Berg, Jo-Ann Nortje, Sophia Bond, Anke Janse van Rensburg
(Back row fltr): Milandri Haggard, Bono Mmbadi, Rashmika, Dakalo Manganya, Lenelia Janse van Rensburg
